Principal Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

Dubizzle Labs is expanding its Pakistan office and seeks a Principal Software Engineer – Backend to lead the development of high‑quality suite products supporting hyper‑growth across 10 countries. The role combines technical leadership, mentorship, and collaboration with product, design and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, customer‑focused solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and own world‑class backend suite products for multi‑country operations.
• Provide technical mentorship and set coding standards across the product stream.
• Collaborate with leads, seniors, product, infrastructure, design, UX and strategy teams.
• Promote and enforce company‑wide coding guidelines, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Influence Dubizzle’s technical vision and architecture within the stream.
• Hire and develop high‑performing engineering talent.
• Own business KPIs and align technical decisions with product and business goals.
• Coach team members to become future technical leaders.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of software engineering experience.
• Proven leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Experience delivering high‑traffic, large‑scale web applications.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, XP).
• Strong understanding of product, design and UX principles.
• Ability to balance technical ambition with business objectives.
