Product Development Engineer

About the role

Unitech International is seeking a full‑time Product Development Engineer to join its Lahore R&D team. You will be responsible for designing new dairy, HVACR and stainless‑steel equipment, improving existing product lines, and turning customer specifications into manufacturable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for dairy, HVACR and stainless‑steel equipment.
• Translate customer requirements into technical requirement sheets and BOMs.
• Develop preliminary concepts for new or custom products.
• Support procurement by reviewing technical datasheets, supplier offers and component compatibility.
• Reverse‑engineer existing components when needed.
• Coordinate with production to ensure fabrication feasibility.
• Maintain revision control for drawings and project documentation.
• Assist management in technical decision‑making for new product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in product design, preferably in dairy equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, or stainless‑steel fabrication.
• Strong analytical skills for testing, troubleshooting and design optimisation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• 2D and 3D drawing (CAD) proficiency.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation.
• Knowledge of stainless‑steel fabrication, sheet‑metal work, tanks, piping and HVACR equipment.
• Experience with reverse engineering and product development processes.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material selection and quality‑assurance standards.
