Principal Engineer

About the role

As a Principal Engineer you will lead the safe and efficient operation of a manufacturing plant, driving zero lost‑time incidents while overseeing maintenance, EHS, supply‑chain and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager with daily operational activities and provide technical assistance to production and maintenance teams.
• Plan and execute preventive and routine maintenance, coordinating with Maintenance Engineers to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Identify and implement plant and process improvement opportunities, supporting continuous‑improvement projects with safe execution.
• Ensure completion of non‑conformance reports, corrective actions, and IMS training while maintaining compliance.
• Promote a strong safety culture, enforce the Safety Manual and Emergency Action Plans, and aim for zero LTI.
• Monitor raw material consumption, manage inventory with the warehouse, and stay within budget.
• Track KPIs, use MCRS tools, and communicate performance results to encourage accountability.
• Take preventive measures based on safety inspections and ensure implementation of safety and emergency procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in plant operations or production.
• In‑depth knowledge of utilities operations and maintenance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP systems (basic modules).
• Strong computer and digital tool skills.
• Familiarity with industry‑standard equipment and technical processes.
