Senior Accountant – Canadian Accounting Specialist (Remote)

About the role

Recruit AI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with deep knowledge of Canadian accounting standards. This full‑time remote position is based in Islamabad and requires a detail‑oriented professional to manage full‑cycle accounting for multiple client entities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee full‑cycle accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Review bookkeeping transactions and verify adherence to accounting policies.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Perform bank, credit‑card and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Process payroll and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and file sales‑tax returns and other statutory filings under Canadian regulations.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Support audit preparation, financial reviews and tax filing activities.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong expertise in Canadian accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational and deadline‑management skills.
