Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant

About the role

As a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant you will own the bookkeeping for a portfolio of US‑based clients, ensuring their financial records are clean, current and audit‑ready. The role is client‑facing and requires direct interaction with business owners and their teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full‑cycle bookkeeping, including transaction categorisation and bank/credit‑card reconciliation.
• Manage full‑cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for multiple clients.
• Complete month‑end close and prepare financial statements such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
• Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online.
• Liaise with clients to resolve coding questions and gather missing information.
• Support CPA and tax preparation teams at year‑end with clean books and schedules.
• Proactively identify and flag anomalies, communicating them without prompting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a multi‑client or accounting‑firm environment.
• Strong understanding of accrual‑basis and cash‑basis accounting.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines across several clients.
• Clear written and verbal English communication for regular client interaction.
• Experience with US‑based clients or BPO/outsourcing accounting firms is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO); QBO certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with Bill.com, Gusto, Expensify or Rippling.
