Senior Consultant – Financial Planning & Budgeting

About the role

The Senior Consultant – Financial Planning & Budgeting will drive effective financial planning and budget management, delivering forecasts, analyses and strategic insights that support informed decision‑making and optimal resource allocation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation, consolidation and review of annual and multi‑year budgets in coordination with business units.
• Ensure budgets align with strategic plans, approved assumptions and financial targets.
• Develop periodic forecasts and rolling financial plans, analysing variances between budgets, forecasts and actual performance.
• Recommend corrective actions based on financial insights and performance trends.
• Build and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting and scenario planning.
• Evaluate financial impacts of strategic initiatives, investments and cost‑optimization opportunities.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify drivers of cost overruns, savings and revenue fluctuations.
• Monitor budget utilization, flag overspending or under‑utilisation risks and support cost‑control measures.
• Partner with department heads and finance stakeholders, providing advisory support on performance and resource allocation.
• Prepare accurate financial reports, dashboards and executive presentations for leadership.
• Maintain budget and forecast data within ERP and financial systems, supporting system enhancements and data accuracy.
• Assist in business case preparation, ROI, NPV and payback analysis for capital proposals.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities through automation and standardisation.
• Mentor junior finance team members and promote knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting or related finance functions.
• Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, ACCA or CFA are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Financial modeling and scenario analysis.
