Section Manager – Costing & Financial Reporting

About the role

The Section Manager – Costing & Financial Reporting leads the costing, cost‑control and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate product and project costing, profitability analysis and compliance with IFRS. The role balances 70% costing & controlling duties with 30% financial reporting, analysis and investment studies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the costing and cost‑control function, reviewing project profitability, identifying cost overruns, margin erosion and operational inefficiencies.
• Perform material, labor, overhead and utilization variance analysis; monitor inventory valuation, slow‑moving items and related provisions.
• Establish cost centres, profit centres, WBS structures and enforce cost allocation controls.
• Review monthly and annual financial statements, prepare management reports and analyse P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow movements.
• Conduct budget‑vs‑actual, forecast‑vs‑actual and year‑on‑year analyses.
• Prepare and evaluate investment and feasibility studies, including CAPEX proposals.
• Develop professional management dashboards using Power BI and advanced Excel techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Cost Accounting or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CMA, CPA or ACCA preferred.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, cost accounting and management accounting principles.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
