Senior Data Governance Consultant – Azure

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Consultant with 7‑9 years of experience to lead the design and implementation of governance frameworks on Azure. The role focuses on Microsoft Purview and a suite of Azure data services to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.
• Configure and manage Microsoft Purview for cataloguing, metadata, classification, lineage, and governance.
• Develop and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, data domains, and critical data elements.
• Establish data ownership, stewardship, and RACI models.
• Define data quality rules, KPIs, monitoring, and remediation processes.
• Implement data lineage and impact analysis across Azure platforms.
• Support data classification, sensitivity, privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Azure engineering and architecture teams to embed governance‑by‑design.
• Work with ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Azure SQL, Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
• Conduct governance assessments, identify gaps, and create roadmaps.
• Prepare documentation, dashboards, reports, and executive recommendations.

Required profile

• 7‑9 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, metadata management, or data architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering or related field.
• Relevant certifications (DAMA/CDMP, Microsoft Azure, etc.) are a plus.
