Utilities Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on, technically strong Utilities Team Lead to oversee the operation and maintenance of plant utilities. The role demands systematic thinking, rapid troubleshooting of complex utility systems, and the ability to drive performance optimisation while building a high‑performing operations team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Utilities Operations team to ensure safe, reliable 24/7 operation of all plant utilities.
• Optimize utility efficiency, reliability and cost while managing breakdown response and service restoration.
• Plan and support annual shutdowns and major maintenance activities, ensuring effective preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate equipment history, translate OEM recommendations into practical strategies, and verify quality of contractor work.
• Support execution and commissioning of CAPEX and sustainability projects, identifying energy‑optimisation and cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Manage OEMs and contractors during servicing and overhauls, balancing reliability with maintenance cost.
• Lead, coach and develop Utilities Operators, manage shift rosters, overtime and leave planning.

Required profile

• Strong operational and maintenance experience across multiple utility systems.
• Sound engineering judgment with ability to lead breakdown response, preventive maintenance and shutdown execution.
• Proven track record of continuous improvement initiatives in a plant environment.
• Experience managing OEMs, contractors and vendor relationships.
• Leadership skills to coach and develop a technical team.

• Electrical chillers (LG, Carrier).
• Process water deep‑well turbines, RO treatment & process pumping.
• Gas‑fired steam boiler (Bosch) and biomass‑fired boiler.
• Steam & electrical dehumidifiers, air handling units.
• LPG vaporizers, fire‑fighting water pumps & sprinkler system.
