Associate Technical Engineer (Paid Internship)

About the role

IHS, a mission-critical communications and technology solutions provider working with government and enterprise customers, is hiring an Associate Technical Engineer for a full-time, on-site paid internship in Islamabad. The role provides technical support for mission-critical communication systems and works alongside senior engineers, cross-functional teams and customers. It has a clear path to a permanent position based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for mission-critical communication systems
• Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software solutions
• Support technical sales by identifying and generating leads
• Work with senior engineers, teams and customers to keep systems reliable and contribute to continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to work on-site in Islamabad, manage multiple tasks and stay focused under time pressure
• Commitment to learning, adaptability to new technologies and a collaborative approach

Required skills

• Strong analytical and research skills to diagnose issues and interpret data
• Basic knowledge of networking (including IP-based systems), operating systems (Windows/Linux) and troubleshooting
• Effective communication with customers, colleagues and stakeholders
• Advantageous: networking concepts, radio communication systems, cloud management platforms, Salesforce or other CRM tools, ticketing systems, SOPs, and interest in technical sales or lead generation
