About the role
The Department Manager oversees daily department operations, ensures stock accuracy, and coordinates staff activities in a METRO wholesale centre.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct daily department rounds and assign tasks to store staff.
- Perform expiry checks, stock corrections, and FIFO verification.
- Maintain signage, railcard, and price checks.
- Coordinate with ALC EDP for printing and barcode generation.
- Handle repacking, internal consumption, quality checks, and customer interactions.
- Train staff, update rosters, and monitor performance.
- Prepare daily QA reports, manage inventory system updates, and oversee receiving, ordering, and returns.
- Attend daily meetings and communicate with head office and store management.
