US Taxation Trainee (3.5-Year Programme)

About the role

MayaTax Pakistan offers a structured 3.5-year training programme for accounting and finance professionals to build expertise in US taxation, financial reporting and international accounting standards. Trainees join professional client-service teams and support end-to-end tax compliance, return preparation and advisory work for international businesses and high-net-worth individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, reviewing and filing US federal and state tax returns (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120-S).
• Research US tax laws, regulations and IRS compliance guidelines.
• Support US GAAP financial reporting and tax-basis reporting.
• Work on client engagements across real estate, hospitality, technology and e-commerce.
• Collaborate with senior team members on bookkeeping, year-end adjustments, tax reconciliations and compliance.
• Take part in internal technical training and professional development.

Required profile

• CA CAF qualified (eligible to register articles under the ICAP TOoP scheme), OR ACCA Affiliate (eligible to fulfill PER requirements), OR BS in Accounting & Finance from a recognised university.
• Commitment to complete the full 3.5-year programme.
• Willingness to work onsite at night shifts in the Karachi office, aligned with US business hours.
• Strong written and spoken English, analytical ability and attention to detail.
