Academics Lead

About the role

The Academics Lead at the School of Education (SOE) provides senior administrative and academic leadership across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This role ensures academic excellence, policy alignment, and operational efficiency while supporting faculty, students, and the Dean’s Office.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as ex officio/Secretary for curriculum, orientation, advisement, practicum, and admissions sub‑committees.
• Oversee review and updates of student handbooks and coordinate new programme development.
• Organise Academic Committee meetings, set agendas, document outcomes, and follow‑up on actions.
• Align course offerings with programme needs, manage teaching schedules, and approve new courses.
• Ensure compliance with grading, course outline, and academic integrity policies.
• Liaise with the Registrar’s Office on scheduling, grade reports, and enrolment matters.
• Train faculty on Zambeel and Grader platforms and support their use.
• Manage the student advisement process, assign advisees, and monitor engagement.
• Coordinate adjunct, TA, and teaching fellow recruitment, assignments, and hiring communications.
• Oversee MPhil thesis submission, Turnitin reporting, and library resource procurement.
• Support the Dean with communications, special projects, and academic reporting.
• Collaborate on co‑curricular programming, event promotion, and feedback collection.
• Lead cross‑departmental academic coordination within the School.
