Accounting Manager - Canada Tax

About the role

Bestax, an accounting, tax, audit and business setup firm serving businesses in the UAE, Canada and beyond, is looking for an Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant. The role covers Canadian corporate and personal tax filings (T2/T1), GST/HST, payroll taxes and basic tax planning, including reviewing financial records, maintaining bookkeeping, preparing financial reports and handling tax notices.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax returns
• Assist with GST/HST filings, payroll taxes and other routine submissions
• Support basic tax planning to help reduce tax liabilities
• Stay up to date with Canadian tax rules and regulations
• Review financial data to ensure accurate tax calculations
• Handle basic tax notices and communicate with authorities when needed
• Maintain bookkeeping records and prepare financial reports
• Coordinate with the team to complete tasks on time

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• ACCA Affiliate or Part-Qualified
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Canadian taxation and accounting
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, CRA regulations and compliance
• Experience with T1, T2, GST/HST and payroll tax filings
• Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines and communicate in English (written and verbal)
• Leadership and coordination skills, able to supervise team members

Required skills

• QuickBooks, Xero, CaseWare, TaxCycle or similar software
• Analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail
