Accounting Manager – UK SME Clients (Hybrid, Karachi)

About the role

The Accounting Manager – UK is a full‑time, hybrid role based in Karachi, with flexibility to work from home. You will manage a portfolio of UK‑based SME and self‑employed clients, overseeing bookkeeping, accounts preparation and tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for key UK clients, managing communication, onboarding and off‑boarding.
• Review and submit corporation tax returns, Self‑Assessment tax returns and financial statements.
• Supervise, mentor and allocate work to junior and senior accounting staff, ensuring technical accuracy.
• Plan capacity, balance workloads and monitor KPIs such as productivity and turnaround times.
• Maintain and improve internal processes, workflows and practice‑management tools to maximise efficiency.

Required profile

• ACCA/ACA qualified (or equivalent) with strong knowledge of UK GAAP, corporation tax and personal tax.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in a UK accounting practice, including staff management and remote workflow oversight.
• Excellent English communication skills (C1 level or above) for direct client contact.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and allocate work across a team while meeting deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships.

Required skills

• UK GAAP, corporation tax and personal tax compliance.
• Cloud accounting software: Xero, QuickBooks, Iris Elements, Taxfiler.
• Advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH).
• Practice‑management tools and workflow optimisation.
