Accounts Assistant - Bookkeeping, VAT, CIS

About the role

Recruit AI is recruiting an Accounts Assistant for a client based in Islamabad. The role maintains accurate financial records and supports bookkeeping across several client accounts. It suits someone with prior experience in an accountancy practice or similar setting, able to work independently and in a team, without managing a team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial accounts and keep comprehensive, accurate records for multiple clients.
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping using accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
• Process Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns and related financial transactions.
• Assist with charity accounts and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns on time and accurately.
• Carry out bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support the preparation of accounts and other accounting and tax tasks as needed.
• Communicate professionally with clients, answering queries and giving updates on financial matters.
• Manage several client accounts at once, meeting deadlines and keeping confidential financial information secure.
