Accounts Officer – Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

About the role

The Accounts Officer will manage day‑to‑day accounting activities for airline sales, settlements, receivables/payables, bank transactions and financial reporting, ensuring accurate recording of travel agency transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily sales, receipts, payments, expenses and other accounting transactions with proper documentation.
• Perform daily reconciliations between accounting records and operational reports, including airline ticket sales, refunds, voids and adjustments.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales and settlement reports and monitor airline deposits, top‑ups, credit limits and agent balances.
• Maintain agent/customer receivable ledgers, verify supplier and airline invoices, and process payments.
• Record and reconcile daily bank transactions, prepare bank reconciliation statements and manage branch cash and petty‑cash records.
• Assist in month‑end closing, financial schedule preparation and maintain filing of invoices, receipts and settlement documents.

Required profile

• B.Com or MBA qualification.
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a travel agency, airline, GSA or ticketing environment.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills.
• Ability to work with accounting systems.
• Familiarity with ticketing accounting software is an advantage.
