AI Engineer – Build Autonomous Event Agents

About the role

vFairs is looking for an experienced AI Engineer to help build and scale AI‑powered features within its virtual events platform. You will work at the intersection of the core product and the AI agent infrastructure, designing, building, and shipping intelligent features that make events more engaging and easier to run for organizers and attendees.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build fully autonomous AI agents that can plan, sequence, and execute multi‑step workflows for event creation, from setup through configuration of sessions, booths, speakers, and content.
• Architect multi‑agent systems using LangGraph, including planner/executor patterns, task decomposition, sub‑agent delegation, and recovery logic for partial failures or ambiguous instructions.
• Extend and maintain the MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, defining new tools, resources, and permissions as agent capabilities grow.
• Implement guardrails, validation, and human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints to keep autonomous actions safe, reversible, and auditable.
• Build evaluation and observability pipelines to track task success, drift, hallucinations, cost, and latency, using the data to iterate on agent behavior.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands‑on production experience with LangGraph (or comparable agent orchestration frameworks) and FastAPI.
• Demonstrated ability to design multi‑step or multi‑agent systems, including task planning, tool orchestration, and error recovery.

Required skills

• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with LangGraph, FastAPI, and LLM‑powered applications (agents, RAG, tool‑calling, structured outputs).
• Familiarity with MCP or similar tool‑to‑application integration patterns.
• Knowledge of vector databases such as pgvector or Chroma and SQL‑based retrieval strategies.
• Understanding of LLM application architecture, prompt design, retrieval strategies, and handling model limitations in production.
• Comfort working across the stack from API design to deployment.
• Nice‑to‑have: experience with PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, multi‑cloud infrastructure, and WebSocket streaming for real‑time AI interactions.
