Assistant Manager - Cost Control and Budgeting

About the role

This role oversees budgeting and forecasting, PR/PO issuance, payments and audit controls within the NOMC domain. It is central to maintaining financial discipline, optimising costs and managing vendor payments, while working with cross-functional teams to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process for telecom network operations, aligned with organisational goals
• Prepare detailed financial forecasts, including operational and capital expenditures, and gather inputs and assumptions with function heads
• Monitor budget performance, analyse variances and share insights with senior management
• Track and ensure achievement of the investment and capitalisation targets for the NOMC department
• Build scenario analysis and sensitivity models to assess the financial impact of market or strategy changes
• Review contracts regularly to find cost-saving opportunities and value for money
• Manage vendor, supplier and contractor payments, verify requests against contracts, purchase orders and delivery receipts, and implement controls to prevent fraud
• Prepare payment reports and give advice on cash flow management
• Work with finance, procurement, operations and legal teams, and act as the main contact for vendors and suppliers on payment matters
• Identify process improvements, stay updated on industry trends and ensure compliance with internal policies, regulations and accounting standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or another relevant field
• Preferably 5+ years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, payments and vendor management, ideally in telecom or technology
