Assistant Manager Finance

About the role

The Assistant Manager Finance reports to the Head of Finance and the Commercial & Company Secretary. The role is primarily responsible for maintaining and updating the books of accounts in line with company policies, the Companies Ordinance and international accounting standards. It covers accounting, cash and working capital management, taxation, financial planning and analysis, and general finance administration.

Key responsibilities

• Accounting and financial reporting: prepare the monthly management reporting pack, financial statements and working papers for audit of company and provident fund accounts, and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Cash management: manage company cash investments, liaise with company and PF banks, enter contracts in the database, forecast and monitor the rolling cash position, and recommend cash optimisation strategies.
• Working capital: manage accounts receivable and payable with the Finance Assistant and Finance Officer, and liaise with banks, investees and financiers.
• Taxation and corporate affairs: file corporate returns with the SECP under the Companies Act 2017, file monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns with the FBR, and deposit withholding tax.
• Financial planning and analysis: build and maintain financial models for pricing, new products and investment cases, analyse variances, lead the annual budgeting process and recommend actions to improve profitability and working capital.
• Maintain the finance department's filing system and carry out other assigned tasks.
