Assistant Manager ICT Procurement

About the role

The Assistant Manager, ICT Procurement will lead end‑to‑end purchasing activities for information and communication technology goods and services at Aga Khan University. The role combines technical understanding of ICT solutions with strong procurement expertise to secure cost‑effective, timely, and high‑quality acquisitions that support the university’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for ICT assets, from planning and sourcing to negotiation, contracting, and vendor management.
• Lead procurement of enterprise IT infrastructure such as servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and security solutions.
• Oversee sourcing of end‑user computing devices including desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals and accessories.
• Handle acquisition of software licences, subscriptions, maintenance contracts and service level agreements.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise cost, quality and delivery timelines.
• Conduct vendor assessments, technical evaluations and commercial comparisons.
• Ensure compliance with organisational procurement policies and procedures.
• Maintain relationships with OEMs, distributors and service providers.
• Monitor market trends, emerging technologies and pricing dynamics in the ICT domain.
• Prepare procurement reports, forecasts and spend analysis for management.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, Finance, Operations) to define requirements and specifications.
