Assistant Manager Internal Audit

About the role

The Assistant Manager Internal Audit is responsible for planning, managing and reviewing comprehensive operational, financial and compliance audits. The role oversees engagements from initial scoping to final reporting, evaluates the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, and coaches senior and junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate with team members on audit engagements assigned by the line manager according to the scheduled plan.
• Conduct audits of branches, departments and service centers in line with the approved annual audit plan.
• Design and prepare sample data for field and operational audits, and carry out scheduled and unannounced field visits to sampled locations.
• Review and verify branch operational documents, workflows and transaction trails, ensuring full compliance with State Bank of Pakistan procedures, regulations and internal bank policies.
• Draft audit reports, review auditee rectification remarks and evidence, and check working papers for completeness, accuracy and validity of findings and recommendations.
• Hold exit meetings with auditees.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in any discipline; a Master's from a reputable institute is preferred.
• CA Inter or ACCA preferred.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in fraud investigations, preferably in a bank.
• Experience working at commercial banks, microfinance banks or financial institutions.
