Assistant Professor of English

About the role

The university is seeking an Assistant Professor of English to deliver high‑quality instruction, mentor undergraduate students, and advance scholarly research. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community, contributing to curriculum development and co‑curricular activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and seminars in accordance with the approved curriculum.
• Prepare course outlines, lesson plans, assignments, and teaching materials.
• Assess and grade assignments, presentations, and examinations, maintaining accurate academic records.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship, and supervision of undergraduate research projects and internships.
• Conduct and publish research, seek funding, and encourage student participation in scholarly activities.
• Participate in admissions, student recruitment, orientation, placement, and institutional committees.
• Engage in co‑curricular, literary, community, and institutional events.

Required profile

• PhD in English Language or Literature from an HEC‑recognized university.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level in a recognized university or higher‑education institution.
• Strong command of English literature, linguistics, and language teaching methodologies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, classroom management, and research capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience using Google Classroom and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Ability to document and upload data for Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) reporting.
