AWS DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on AWS DevOps Engineer with 4‑6 years of experience to design, build and operate our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. The role bridges development and operations, ensuring reliable delivery of Python‑based backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline and CodeBuild.
• Manage infrastructure as code with AWS CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Build, run and debug Docker containers and deploy services on Amazon ECS (Fargate).
• Maintain and optimise MySQL databases on Amazon RDS, including schema changes.
• Monitor applications and infrastructure with CloudWatch, Sentry and custom alerting.
• Troubleshoot issues across APIs, databases, queues and container environments.
• Collaborate with backend teams (Flask APIs, workers, scheduled tasks) using Git workflows.
• Document runbooks, operational procedures and system architecture.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of professional experience in software, DevOps or cloud engineering.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
• Comfortable reading and writing production‑grade Python code.
• Proven ability to debug across API, database and infrastructure layers.

Required skills

• AWS services: EC2, ECS (Fargate), S3, RDS, Lambda, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch.
• AWS CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform.
• CI/CD tools: AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild.
• Docker (Dockerfile creation, container debugging).
• Python scripting and Flask (or other Python web frameworks).
• SQL and MySQL (queries, joins, indexes).
• Git version control and branching strategies.
• Linux command‑line environment.
