Chemist (Pesticides)

About the role

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is recruiting on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA), which is set up to strengthen Pakistan's agri-trade ecosystem through stronger regulatory oversight, facilitation and modernisation of food safety and trade processes. This is an on-site position in Islamabad.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pesticide formulation, residue and quality analysis using validated analytical methods and laboratory SOPs.
• Apply QA/QC procedures, keep analytical records and ensure traceability of results and the sample chain of custody.
• Prepare analytical results, laboratory reports and supporting documentation for regulatory use and enforcement support.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, calibration records and safety protocols.
• Support sample management, testing schedules and timely reporting to operational and registration units.
• Carry out other duties assigned by the reporting officer.

Required profile

• M.Sc. in Chemistry (Organic/Analytical) (minimum sixteen years of education) or B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Chemistry (sixteen to eighteen years) or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in pesticide analysis, residue testing or laboratory QA/QC.
• Strong attention to detail and integrity.
