Contracts and Claims Manager

About the role

This position joins the Project Tendering and Execution team to provide specialised contractual resources for large‑scale engineering and construction projects within the Grid Technologies Substation business in Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drafting, review and negotiation of complex project contracts with customers, suppliers and partners.
• Develop and execute strategies for managing contract claims, variations and amendments throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analyse contract performance to identify commercial opportunities and advise project management and business controlling teams.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of contractual terms and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain a systematic contract database and ensure documentation complies with corporate governance, legal standards and regulations.
• Act as the primary interface between project teams, legal and finance departments and prepare reports on contract status, risks and commercial performance for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Engineering, Business Administration, Construction or a related field.
• Typically 8+ years of experience as a Contract Manager in energy, construction or large‑scale project execution.
• Proven subject‑matter expertise in managing complex contracts and claims with limited oversight.
• Strong analytical, strategic and risk‑management abilities with a proactive mindset towards AI and digitalisation initiatives.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills with a strong sense of accountability.
