Copywriter & Content Expert (AI Training Data)

About the role

SME Careers, a fast-growing AI data services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, is hiring a Copywriting & Content Subject Matter Expert (SME) for an hourly, remote contractor position. There is no immediate project, but qualified candidates will be among the first approached when relevant opportunities arise, with access to future projects through the expert network.

The SME reviews AI-generated marketing and content outputs and creates expert copy, evaluating reasoning quality, intent alignment and step-by-step writing decisions. The work covers accuracy, clarity, brand fit, tone, claim and compliance risk, and fact-checking, with ratings and comparisons of multiple responses.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed prompts and gold-standard copy across formats and industries to guide AI learning
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve clarity, persuasion, tone match and factual reliability
• Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, hallucinated claims, bias, unsafe advice and brand-risk issues
• Write high-quality explanations and model outputs demonstrating strong copywriting technique

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of experience in copywriting, content writing, editorial, content marketing or brand storytelling
• Strong command of brand voice, tone adaptation and audience-aware writing (B2B and/or B2C)
• Ability to spot and correct factual errors, weak reasoning, overclaims and potential compliance issues, especially in regulated domains
• Familiarity with landing pages, email campaigns, blogs, ads, social posts, product copy, scripts and long-form guides
• Comfort giving specific, actionable feedback and writing rewrites with rationale; minimum C1 English
• Reliable, self-directed and able to work consistently across time zones
• Prior experience with AI data training, content QA, editorial operations or style-guide governance strongly preferred
