Core Network Engineer (Arista)

About the role

RoleSystems Limited is looking for an experienced Core Network Engineer (Arista) with expertise in data centre networking, migration and hybrid cloud connectivity. The engineer designs, implements and manages enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring seamless data centre migrations, network reliability and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage Arista core network infrastructure, including leaf-spine architecture, MLAG, VXLAN/EVPN and Layer 2/3 networking.
• Lead end-to-end data centre migration activities, including discovery, dependency mapping, cutover planning and execution.
• Architect and manage hybrid cloud connectivity using Azure ExpressRoute, OCI FastConnect and GCP Interconnect.
• Configure and optimise protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, QoS, load balancing, firewalls and VPNs.
• Perform capacity planning, network monitoring, firmware upgrades and security hardening.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues to ensure high availability and performance.
• Maintain technical documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, runbooks and change management records.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in core network engineering, data centre networking or related infrastructure roles.
• Proven experience leading data centre migrations, including cutover planning and execution.
• Certifications such as Arista ACE-A/P, Cisco CCNP/CCIE or Microsoft AZ-700 are an advantage.

Required skills

• Arista EOS, CloudVision and network fabric design and operations.
• BGP, OSPF, VXLAN/EVPN, MLAG and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Network troubleshooting and packet-level analysis.
• Network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or Zabbix.
• Ansible or Python for network automation is a plus.
