About the role
We are seeking an experienced Cost Control Manager to lead and standardise the costing framework across our manufacturing operations. The role will ensure accurate cost and margin analysis, strengthen costing controls and provide reliable insights for pricing, budgeting and profitability decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Own and standardise the overall costing framework, policies, methodologies, allocation bases and reporting formats for factory operations.
- Review and approve product, model‑wise, batch, process and landed‑cost calculations prepared by the factory costing team.
- Review actual vs. standard/estimated cost variances and investigate significant deviations in material, labour, overhead, consumption, wastage and production efficiency.
- Monitor product‑wise, model‑wise and channel‑wise gross margins and profitability.
- Review factory MIS covering material consumption, production efficiency, inventory movement and cost trends.
- Ensure costing of raw materials, parts, WIP and finished goods is reconciled with financial records.
- Coordinate with Group FP&A on budgets, forecasts, pricing, projections and profitability analysis.
- Review inventory valuation, slow‑moving and obsolete stock and NRV‑related matters.
- Develop costing dashboards and management reports for the Group Financial Controller.
- Review and approve costing master data, BOM assumptions, cost centres and allocation logic.
- Coordinate with the ERP/Odoo project team to embed approved costing methodologies and controls in the system.
- Ensure appropriate costing controls and segregation between factory‑level preparation and Head Office review.
- Conduct periodic factory visits to review costing procedures, controls and compliance.
- Identify cost optimisation opportunities and challenge abnormal costs, variances and costing assumptions.
Required profile
- Professional qualification such as ACMA, CA (finalist), ACCA or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in costing, management accounting, FP&A or financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in product costing, standard/actual costing, landed costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation and profitability analysis.
- Good understanding of BOMs, production processes, overhead allocation, cost centres and manufacturing MIS.
- Experience with ERP systems; Odoo experience is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting/dashboarding.
