Department Manager - Fresh Fruits & Vegetables

About the role

The Department Manager for Fresh Fruits & Vegetables will oversee all aspects of stock, merchandising and team performance within the department. Reporting to the CEM, you will ensure optimal product availability and presentation to meet sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the CEM with stock ordering and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Lead Store Associates in mass merchandising, shelf and stock management, and maintain department cleanliness.
• Drive productivity improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
• Support the FM in achieving departmental sales targets.
• Manage overnight operations according to DSO protocols and ensure readiness before store opening.
• Ensure product presentation follows the Planogram and secondary displays meet BMPL guidelines.
• Conduct activities in line with SOPs, company policies and uniform standards.
• Perform QA checks using defined protocols and checklists.
• Monitor product expiries, enforce FIFO and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain effective stock and shelf management throughout the department.

Required profile

• Graduation or Intermediate education.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
