Deputy Manager Core Network & Operations

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Core Networks and Operations is responsible for ensuring the availability, security, performance, and resilience of the organization’s core IT network infrastructure. This role supports critical business applications by managing enterprise network operations, implementing security controls, monitoring network health, and driving infrastructure modernization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN and data‑center network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, NAC and Zero Trust platforms.
• Monitor network availability, performance, capacity and security posture, and proactively resolve incidents.
• Implement and enforce security policies using next‑generation firewalls (Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, FortiGate) and intrusion‑prevention systems.
• Lead business continuity and disaster‑recovery testing, ensuring network resiliency and compliance with security standards.
• Drive network modernization, transformation and infrastructure upgrade projects.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors and service providers to deliver a secure, reliable, future‑ready network environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of overall IT experience, with at least 6 years in enterprise core network operations.
• At least 4 years of experience in network security technologies and 4 years delivering network modernization projects.
• Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE 7 or equivalent.

Required skills

• Enterprise LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN and data‑center network design and optimization.
• Next‑generation firewalls (Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, FortiGate), IPS, SSL inspection, application control.
• Network Access Control and Zero Trust solutions (Cisco ISE, dynamic segmentation, posture assessment).
• Routing and switching protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VRFs, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, QoS, MPLS VPNs.
• Core services: DHCP, DNS, IPv6.
• Packet analysis, NetFlow, SNMP, Syslog, telemetry and network monitoring platforms.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, PCI‑DSS).
