Document Controller - Engineering Department

About the role

A highly organized Document Controller is sought to manage the flow of information across large-scale design and construction projects in the engineering department. The role keeps documentation accurate and well coordinated so that all teams can work from the latest revisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the receipt, storage, tracking and distribution of project documentation, including drawings, RFIs, submittals and correspondence.
• Administer the project's Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and Common Data Environment (CDE) so all teams have access to the latest versions.
• Set up and enforce version control, naming conventions and quality checks for incoming and outgoing data.
• Prepare regular documentation status reports and support the project management team during audits and handovers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience handling large-scale, complex projects.
• Proven experience as a Document Controller in the architecture, engineering or construction (AEC) industry.
• Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate with internal teams, clients and external contractors to chase approvals and resolve documentation bottlenecks.

Required skills

• Hands-on use of document management platforms such as Oracle Aconex, Autodesk BIM 360 or similar CDEs.
• Version control and document administration.
