Fire Sprinkler Engineer

About the role

The Fire Sprinkler Engineer will design, develop, and review fire sprinkler systems ensuring full compliance with NFPA standards and project specifications. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, code‑compliant fire protection solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 20 and other applicable codes.
• Perform accurate hydraulic calculations using approved industry software.
• Create and maintain fire protection layouts, riser diagrams, shop, construction and as‑built drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Utilize specialized fire protection software such as AutoSPRINK, HydraCALC, HASS and Elite Fire.
• Ensure designs meet Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements, client specifications and project scope.
• Coordinate with MEP, architectural and structural teams and resolve clashes using Navisworks.
• Prepare and submit technical submittals, material take‑offs, bills of quantities and compliance documentation.
• Review drawings with Bluebeam Revu, incorporate comments and manage revisions.
• Respond to RFIs, provide technical clarifications and support project planning.
• Stay updated on NFPA code revisions and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing fire sprinkler systems and performing hydraulic calculations.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 14 and NFPA 20 standards.
• Ability to produce and review detailed fire protection drawings.
• Experience coordinating with MEP, architectural and structural disciplines.
• Capability to prepare technical submittals, material take‑offs and compliance documents.
• Commitment to staying current with code updates and industry standards.
