Forward Deployed Engineer - CAD & Desktop Integrations

About the role

Arbisoft is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to design, build, and maintain integration plugins for Windows‑based CAD and desktop engineering tools such as SolidWorks and CATIA. You will work directly on a client site, owning the integration architecture and acting as the technical advocate for the solution.

Key responsibilities

• Design integration architecture across CAD and desktop tools, providing clear rationale for decisions.
• Develop and maintain plugin bridges using WebSockets, HTTP, gRPC, or named pipes.
• Handle JSON message passing and code execution within host applications.
• Ensure integrations remain functional as vendor updates are released, with regression coverage.
• Define interaction patterns for AI agents, including tool definitions and failure handling.
• Present, defend, and document architectural choices to the client.

Required profile

• 5+ years of system architecture experience, with a focus on building robust integrations.
• Comfortable working across multiple programming languages, primarily Python, with JavaScript and C# as a plus.
• Experience building plugins or extensions for desktop applications and debugging on Windows.
• Knowledge of LLM tool‑use and AI agent orchestration.
• Strong client‑facing skills, able to present and defend technical decisions.
