Freelance Programmer - Code Review & System Optimization

About the role

Dany Tameerat is looking for an experienced freelance computer programmer to carry out a technical review, optimization and enhancement of DT Brain, its integrated business management system. The system covers Sales CRM, Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, Project Management, Recruitment and Executive Reporting. The project is reported to the Chief Technology Officer and is project-based.

Key responsibilities

• Review the existing codebase, identify deficiencies, vulnerabilities and inefficiencies, and provide a prioritized assessment of fixes and upgrades.
• Find and fix performance bottlenecks in pages, database queries and background processes; optimize queries, indexing and responsiveness.
• Assess authentication, access controls, data handling and dependencies, and address security vulnerabilities in line with web application security practices.
• Refactor and restructure code to improve readability, scalability and maintainability, while keeping existing functionality intact.
• Review automated test coverage, develop additional tests, and fix defects found during optimization.
• Document findings and changes, submit a technical assessment and completion report, and recommend future improvements.

Required profile

• Professional experience in software development and maintaining web applications.
• Ability to understand and work within existing application architectures.
• Experience independently reviewing and upgrading existing business-critical applications (preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation and communication skills.

Required skills

• Python, Flask and Jinja-based applications (or equivalent ability).
• Relational databases such as SQLite or SQL, with query optimization and indexing.
• JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Code auditing, debugging, refactoring, performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Automated testing frameworks such as pytest.
• Web security principles, authentication, authorization and OWASP Top 10 (preferred).
• Preferred: ERP, CRM or finance applications, Windows servers and background jobs, Node.js.
