Head of Medical Research & Clinical Quality

About the role

Mohsyn, a home-care and healthcare provider focused on elderly people, is looking for a Head of Medical Research & Clinical Quality in Karachi. Reporting to the CEO, the role leads the medical research strategy, oversees clinical quality across healthcare services, builds partnerships with national and international medical and research institutions, and helps build the first large-scale geriatric research study in South Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the long-term medical research strategy, especially geriatrics, ageing, preventive healthcare and chronic disease management, and drive the design and execution of a large-scale geriatric research programme
• Build internal capabilities for observational, epidemiological and longitudinal research, and oversee analysis, reporting and publication while meeting ethical, regulatory and data-protection requirements
• Establish strategic partnerships with medical schools, universities, teaching hospitals and international institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins and Mount Sinai, including joint publications, grants and clinical studies
• Develop clinical quality standards, protocols and audit frameworks, and ensure clinical risk management, patient safety and incident review
• Lead and develop the medical and clinical quality teams, set performance expectations and run training and continuous professional development
• Build a centralised medical knowledge and research infrastructure, work with Product and Technology on data systems, and explore AI and predictive analytics
• Act as senior medical and clinical research advisor to the CEO, represent Mohsyn at conferences and contribute to publications and thought leadership

Required profile

• MBBS from a recognised medical institution (mandatory)
• Significant post-qualification experience in healthcare, clinical leadership and medical research
• Strong medical knowledge, research acumen, strategic thinking and the ability to build and lead teams
