Healthcare Virtual Assistant (Remote, Pakistan)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Healthcare Virtual Assistant to support US‑based clinics and insurance providers. The role bridges patients, providers, and insurers, ensuring smooth scheduling, eligibility checks, and prior authorizations while delivering excellent patient communication.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct insurance verification and eligibility checks, interpret policy types (PPO, HMO, Medicare/Medicaid) and document patient financial responsibilities.
• Prepare, submit and track prior authorization requests via portals, fax or phone, reviewing clinical documentation and managing appeals.
• Handle inbound and outbound patient calls to schedule, reschedule and remind patients of appointments, and maintain doctors’ calendars for optimal clinic workflow.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of direct experience in the US healthcare industry, including scheduling, eligibility verification and prior authorizations.
• Strong understanding of US insurance concepts such as PPO, HMO, EOBs, copays and patient benefits.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability and fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with insurance portals (e.g., Availity, Optum, CoverMyMeds).
• Experience using electronic health record or practice management systems (e.g., ECW, Tebra, Dentrix).
