Import / Export Officer (Female)

About the role

The company is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Import/Export Officer to manage and execute import and export activities so that operations remain efficient and cost-effective. The role requires a strong understanding of the logistics and compliance processes involved in international trade.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee import and export operations to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines and customs brokers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Prepare and review import/export documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and certificates of origin.
• Monitor shipments to ensure timely receipt and dispatch of goods.
• Resolve logistical and documentation issues that arise during shipment processes.
• Communicate with suppliers and customers to handle inquiries and give shipment updates.
• Maintain records of all import and export transactions for audit and compliance.
• Collaborate with other departments to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting international trade.

Required profile

• 1-2 years of experience in import/export operations or a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Certification in import/export operations or a related field is desirable.
• Good understanding of global shipping routes and international logistics.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and documentation.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate and negotiate with vendors, shipping agents and customers.
• Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills to interpret and apply compliance regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
