Jr Internal Audit Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Internal Audit Officer to support the execution of our annual internal audit plan across financial, operational and branch functions. The role involves conducting audit reviews, testing transactions, and evaluating internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in executing the annual internal audit plan and individual audit assignments.
• Conduct audit reviews of financial, operational, branch, and support functions.
• Perform transaction testing, substantive testing, reconciliations, and control testing.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and identify weaknesses.
• Review compliance with internal policies, SOPs, regulatory requirements and SBP guidelines.
• Identify unusual transactions, discrepancies, process gaps and potential risks.
• Prepare detailed audit working papers and maintain supporting documentation.
• Draft audit observations, findings and recommendations and discuss them with process owners.
• Follow up on outstanding observations and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
• Support risk assessments, special audits, investigations and other assignments as directed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Pursuing ACCA, CA, CIA or other relevant professional qualification (preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, risk, compliance or assurance.
• Prior experience in banking, financial services or other regulated financial institutions is an advantage.
