L2 Cloud Implementation Engineer

About the role

XTIUM is looking for an L2 Cloud Implementation Engineer to deliver second-line support and implementation for Microsoft Azure, Citrix and Microsoft infrastructure. The role covers incident, problem and change tickets, technical documentation and collaboration with L3 and vendor support, and is advertised as remote.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and support Azure IaaS and PaaS resources such as VMs, VNets, NSGs, load balancers, storage accounts, Azure Backup and Site Recovery, and hybrid connectivity (Site-to-Site VPN, Azure Firewall, DNS)
• Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy and RBAC, and support Azure Virtual Desktop host pools, images, FSLogix and scaling plans
• Implement and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and DaaS, including Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Studio, machine catalogues, Delivery Groups and policies
• Maintain master images (MCS), profile management, Workspace Environment Management and application layering; deploy, configure and troubleshoot Citrix ADC (NetScaler) and Gateway
• Support Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and PKI, and file services and patching via WSUS, Intune and Azure Update Manager
• Own L2 incident, problem and change tickets in line with SLAs (ServiceNow), write technical documentation (HLD/LLD inputs, build guides, runbooks, handover notes) and escalate to L3 and vendors while mentoring L1 colleagues
• Take part in on-call and out-of-hours maintenance windows where required

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years in an L2 or implementation engineering role in a managed services or enterprise environment
• Strong 2nd/3rd line troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience supporting Windows devices and Microsoft environments, and good understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routers)
• Experience with device management, deployment and IT service management systems, and contributing to IT projects
• Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills, able to prioritize workload and work under pressure

Required skills

• Hands-on Azure and Microsoft 365 administration, with strong Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy and Windows Server skills
• Practical Citrix CVAD/DaaS experience and working knowledge of Citrix ADC/NetScaler (CLI and GUI)
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Desirable: Microsoft and Citrix certifications, ITIL Foundation, and experience in a multi-customer MSP environment
