Lady Health Visitor (Female Only) - Kurram District

About the role

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is recruiting three Lady Health Visitors (LHV) for its merged areas headquarters in Kurram District. Local candidates are given preference and females are encouraged to apply. The role reports to the Medical Officer and covers a project duration of 5.5 months, ending on 1 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Work in line with PRCS goals and the Red Cross and Red Crescent principles, and follow security rules and the PRCS code of conduct.
• Provide nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care plans, and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Monitor patient conditions, educate patients and families, and encourage patient participation in their own care.
• Keep accurate records of patient care and provide data and reports to the line manager and PHQ.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment, follow infection-control protocols, and manage nursing equipment and supplies inventory.
• Provide prenatal and postnatal care, assist safe deliveries, and monitor infant and young child health, including immunizations, growth tracking and nutrition counselling.
• Deliver MNCH services and travel to field locations for mobile health camps.

Required profile

• 2-year diploma in Midwifery or Lady Health Visiting (LHV) from a recognized institution with a valid PNC card.
• At least 2 years of experience as a nurse in a reputable hospital or government project.
• Fluency in Urdu, Pashto and English (spoken and written).
• Age up to 45 years; extensive travel to field locations is required.
