Lead II - Cloud Engineer

About the role

S&P Global is seeking a Lead II Cloud Engineer to expand and maintain its AWS cloud infrastructure. The role combines development, operations, and automation to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions for the Enterprise Data Organization.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with software development teams to improve application reliability, performance, security and scalability.
• Provide BAU production support, proactively resolve monitoring alerts and user‑reported incidents.
• Develop automation scripts using Terraform, Python and Unix shell to streamline operational tasks.
• Design, implement and manage infrastructure on AWS following best‑practice patterns.
• Write and execute database queries; manage document‑oriented databases and AWS storage services.
• Set up and configure monitoring tools such as Grafana, PagerDuty and Splunk, and respond to incidents promptly.

Required profile

• 9+ years of cloud and software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field; relevant certifications preferred.
• Proven experience with AWS, GitHub, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and business audiences.
