Legal Affairs Manager

About the role

Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, a non-governmental, charitable organization founded in 1985 and dedicated to eye care and the prevention of blindness, is hiring a full-time, on-site Legal Affairs Manager in Rawalpindi. The role covers all legal matters of the hospital, from drafting and reviewing documents to advising management and supporting compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and maintain legal documents, contracts and policies.
• Provide timely legal advice to management and advise on corporate governance practices.
• Support compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
• Handle legal risk assessments and support dispute resolution.
• Monitor changes in healthcare and non-profit law, prepare reports for leadership and help develop internal controls and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution; bar membership or license to practice is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a hospital, healthcare or non-profit environment is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Rawalpindi and manage multiple cases and projects while meeting deadlines.

Required skills

• Expertise in legal affairs and law, with the ability to interpret and apply statutes and regulations.
• Proficiency in drafting, reviewing and organizing contracts, agreements and policies.
• Knowledge of corporate governance, especially in healthcare or non-profit organizations.
• Analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
