Linux System Administrator (RHEL, Ansible, Satellite)

About the role

The Infrastructure & Platforms Engineer administers, automates and supports enterprise Linux and infrastructure environments, with a primary focus on RHEL, Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Automation. The role ensures availability, security, performance, patching and lifecycle management of Linux platforms across production, non-production and DR environments, while supporting virtualization, storage, backup, networking and other enterprise infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support RHEL environments across production, non-production and DR platforms, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, hardening, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Manage users, groups, filesystems, LVM, services, permissions, SSH, SELinux and system security.
• Manage the RHEL lifecycle with Red Hat Satellite (host registration, repositories, Content Views, Lifecycle Environments, Activation Keys, errata, subscriptions) and plan patching, remediation and compliance.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, variables, templates and handlers, and automate provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance and application prerequisites.
• Troubleshoot Ansible Automation Platform / Tower / AWX environments and complex Linux, networking, filesystem and performance issues.
• Support Linux HA/cluster environments, VMware vSphere/ESXi (VM provisioning, migration, snapshots, HA), and enterprise SAN/NAS storage (Fibre Channel, LUNs, multipathing, NFS).
• Support backup and recovery environments (Commvault, Veeam or equivalent) and take part in migrations, DR, capacity planning and platform upgrades.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, SOPs and runbooks, and coordinate with OEM and vendor support teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure and Linux administration.
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat Satellite and strong practical experience with Ansible.
• Experience with Linux security hardening, vulnerability remediation and performance monitoring.
• Willingness to work on-call and after hours when required.

Required skills

• RHEL 7/8/9 or later, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventory, variables, templates, handlers)
• LVM, systemd, SELinux, SSH, NFS, DNS/NTP, Linux networking, Bash scripting
• VMware vSphere/ESXi; exposure to Hyper-V is an advantage
• Commvault, Veeam or equivalent backup tools
• Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes exposure is an advantage
• RHCSA/RHCE, Red Hat Ansible Automation, VMware VCP or ITIL certification preferred
