Manager Tax Accounting & Quality Assurance

About the role

The Manager Tax Accounting & Quality Assurance leads the tax accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and governance across the organization. This role coordinates with finance, external reporting, FP&A, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality tax deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax accounting and reporting in line with IFRS.
• Lead the creation of tax reporting packages for the VEON Group and local stakeholders.
• Calculate tax provisions, deferred tax, and perform quarterly Effective Tax Rate reconciliations.
• Coordinate tax closing activities with Finance, External Reporting, FP&A, and business units.
• Develop technical tax position papers and accounting memoranda for complex transactions.
• Manage corporate income tax compliance, including external and internal reviews.
• Maintain communication with external auditors and internal teams, handling Uncertain Tax Positions each quarter.
• Drive tax automation, digitalisation, and process improvements.
• Support transfer pricing documentation (Master File, Local File) and SOX‑aligned tax assurance activities.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of IFRS tax accounting standards.
• Proven experience in tax provision, deferred tax calculations, and ETR reconciliations.
• Hands‑on experience with tax compliance processes and coordination with auditors.
• Ability to produce technical tax position papers for complex, non‑routine transactions.
• Familiarity with SOX‑type assurance and Uncertain Tax Position documentation.
