Materials Expeditor (Field-Based, 1 Year)

About the role

A full-time, on-site Materials Expeditor position in the Karachi Division, contracted for one year (extendable for another). The role monitors material requirements, tracks orders and ensures timely delivery of spare parts, project materials and services to support project and production schedules. It works closely with suppliers, procurement, warehouse and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Track material progress through manufacturing and delivery, and update delivery schedules based on supplier feedback
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to expedite pending orders and resolve shortages, quality issues and delivery discrepancies
• Prioritize deliveries by operational needs, safety and urgency
• Work with user departments and Finance to resolve material issues
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and open Purchase Orders (POs)
• Monitor critical spare parts and update centralized tracking sheets

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration (a diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field is an advantage)
• Previous experience in materials management, purchasing or logistics
• Strong expediting experience, with knowledge of POs and procurement processes
• Background in materials management, inventory monitoring and coordination with warehouse or operations teams
• Prior experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing or project-based environments is preferred

Required skills

• Familiarity with SAP
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
• Spreadsheets and ERP or procurement systems
• Communication, coordination, problem-solving and organizational skills
