Medical Officer

About the role

Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO), an integrated energy conglomerate and joint venture between Pakistan and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, is seeking a Medical Officer for its Head Office in Karachi. The role provides medical consultation, diagnosis and treatment to employees and eligible dependents, and supports occupational health and preventive healthcare within the company.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical consultation, diagnosis and treatment to employees and eligible dependents, and conduct OPD consultations with proper documentation.
• Offer telehealth consultations through the Healthcare Management System, including medical advice, follow-up care and referral coordination.
• Manage primary emergencies and stabilise patients before referral to panel hospitals when required.
• Coordinate referrals to panel hospitals, laboratories and specialists, and assist with periodic medical examinations and fitness assessments.
• Support occupational health and preventive healthcare programmes, and take part in health awareness sessions and wellness activities.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, SOPs and regulatory standards, and coordinate with nursing and paramedical staff.
• Maintain accurate medical records, reports and healthcare data.

Required profile

• MBBS degree; MCPS Family Medical or Post Graduate Diploma.
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of clinical experience after MBBS in common and chronic diseases, including emergency and industrial trauma (burns, fractures, head injuries, chemical exposure).
• Proven occupational health expertise and demonstrated healthcare leadership supervising multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in cost control and healthcare operations management, and in coordinating with panel hospitals, consultants, laboratories and government health authorities.
• Experience in corporate or industrial healthcare settings preferred.

Required skills

• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills in primary care and emergency management.
• Ability to triage patients, stabilise emergencies and conduct OPD consultations.
• Proficiency in computer applications, EMR systems and medical documentation.
• SAP and strong communication skills.
