MEP AutoCAD Draftsman - HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing

About the role

Innovative Engineering Solution is looking for an AutoCAD draftsman with a minimum of three years of experience in MEP drafting and contracting to join its team in Karachi. The main task is to prepare detailed, accurate and coordinated drawings for HVAC, fire fighting and plumbing systems, working closely with site engineers, project managers, consultants and other stakeholders so that drawings match site conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Create precise, coordinated HVAC, fire fighting and plumbing shop drawings that meet project standards.
• Develop installation, coordination and as-built drawings aligned with the project scope.
• Review IFC drawings, architectural layouts and consultant feedback and incorporate the required revisions.
• Coordinate and verify MEP drawings against site conditions and other trades to avoid conflicts.
• Draft layouts and components for ducting, piping, equipment, fire fighting and plumbing systems.
• Maintain drawing registers, track revisions and record drawing submissions.
• Collaborate with site engineers, project managers and consultants, and visit sites when needed to check dimensions and conditions.
• Apply knowledge of HVAC ducting, fire fighting piping and plumbing layouts, and use AutoCAD 2D to produce professional-grade drawings.

Required profile

• Minimum of three years of experience in MEP drafting and contracting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and practical experience making shop, installation, coordination and as-built drawings.
• Ability to interpret IFC drawings and project specifications.
• Knowledge of ducting, piping, MEP symbols and drawing accuracy, and ability to resolve clashes and keep revision registers.
• Experience with Revit MEP and BIM is an advantage.
