National Sea Logistics Manager

About the role

As a member of Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding team, you will lead the national sea logistics function, ensuring the efficient transport of goods ranging from medicines to machinery. You will be part of the Management Team, driving both customer and operational excellence while safeguarding profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the sea logistics team and oversee business development, sales pipeline, and revenue targets.
• Identify new business opportunities, improve under‑performing accounts, and implement customer SOPs for excellence.
• Maintain training curricula, ensure a capable workforce, and manage succession pipelines for key positions.
• Guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements, company guidelines, and industry standards; coordinate with QSHE for audit readiness.
• Champion regional and corporate initiatives, fostering best‑practice sharing across locations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for vendors and customers, nurturing strategic relationships.
• Analyse profit & loss statements, monitor cost of production, and drive financial target achievement.
• Develop procurement and pricing strategies to support trade‑lane growth and attract the right business mix.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in sea freight forwarding or logistics, including leadership responsibilities.
• Proven track record in business development, revenue growth and P&L management.
• Strong knowledge of ocean freight operations, procurement, pricing and trade‑lane development.
• Experience leading high‑performing teams and a solid understanding of industry regulations and quality standards.
• Excellent commercial, analytical, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Effective communication skills and a results‑oriented mindset.
