Payroll Officer – US Payroll

About the role

We are seeking a Payroll Officer to manage accurate and timely payroll processing for U.S.-based employees and contractors, ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process U.S. payroll accurately and within scheduled deadlines.
• Verify salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, reimbursements and other payroll inputs.
• Manage payroll changes, new hires, terminations and final settlements.
• Process and reconcile federal, state and local payroll taxes and deductions.
• Assist with W‑2, 1099, W‑4, Form 941 and year‑end payroll activities.
• Maintain accurate, confidential payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to employee payroll queries and coordinate with HR, Finance and payroll vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR or related field.
• 2–4 years of hands‑on U.S. payroll experience.
• Working knowledge of U.S. federal and state payroll regulations.
• Strong analytical, numerical and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Experience with payroll/HRIS systems such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks or UKG.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
